Justin Kluivert Attracting High-Profile Interest – Mino Raiola
Super-agent Mino Raiola has revealed that his client Justin Kluivert is attracting plenty of interest from high-profile European clubs, though he would prefer to stick for Ajax for the coming years. The 18-year-old has built up a huge reputation since his debut with Ajax in January 2017, and talks are already underway at the Dutch club in order to commit him to a new contract beyond June 2019.
Speaking on De Telegraaf, Raiola cited that Justin is of interest to some of the biggest clubs in the world, but the left-sided winger is not in a hurry to pursue a fresh challenge, he said: “The negotiations are running well and there are no ripples in the water, but I have a duty to handle this very carefully. At Ajax, Justin is still playing under a small contract and there is a lot of interest for him, an exceptional amount and from the biggest clubs. You have to take those noises seriously too, because we are dealing with one of the greatest talents in the world.”
Among the club’s interested are Manchester United and Barcelona, but neither are likely to guarantee him a regular starting role, considering their current options in the first-team. The Red Devils only recently recruited Alexis Sanchez to their ranks, and the Blaugrana have followed a similar suit with Philippe Coutinho bolstering their attack with his club-record arrival in January.
As such, the teenager is prepared to stick with Ajax, for whom he has contributed six goals and four assists during the ongoing campaign. The youngster has also gone onto represent the Netherlands through all the younger age groups, and it would not come as a surprise, if he is picked by Ronald Koeman for the upcoming friendlies against England and Portugal. The country is expected to go on a major transition phase after the retirements of Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder.
