FOUR CLUBS EYEING AJAX STAR
Four clubs are said to be on the trail of Ajax Amsterdam star NoussairMazraoui. This is according to the report from Eurosport which stated that all the teams eyeing a move for Mazraoui are from the Premier League.
Mazraoui has a decision to make over his long-term future as his current deal expires at the end of this season amidst the interest from the Premier League quartet of Arsenal, Leeds United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester City.
Moroccan defender Mazraoui has not been able to sign a new deal at Ajax and he could leave the club on a free transfer next summer if the situation remains the same. He can start to speak with foreign teams over a possible free transfer move as from the start of 2022.
In a recent interview monitored by English publication Metro, Mazraoui disclosed that he’s open to a new contract at Ajax Amsterdam and that he has already informed Marc Overmars about his position on the matter. Ex-Dutch international Overmars is the director of football at Ajax Amsterdam.
Mazraoui also said that an agreement on a new deal becomes more difficult, the longer it goes on. He also talked about the possibility of seeking a new challenge away from Ajax Amsterdam. The Moroccan has been at Dutch champions Ajax for 17 years.
Ajax Amsterdam are renowned for producing young talents before selling them to big clubs from the other leagues. The likes of Frenkie De Jong, Matthijs De Ligt and Donny Van De Beek have left Ajax for bigger teams in recent years and Mazraoui could be the next player to leave the club.
